Description
Photographed in Slovenia, this frame reduces Cerkev Sv. Tomaž to its purest idea: a small church on a ridge, surrounded by nothing but fog and distance. The landscape is erased on purpose. Layers of mist flatten the world into soft bands, and the only hard fact left is the silhouette of the chapel and a few trees holding the summit.
The composition is built on restraint. The subject sits isolated in a sea of negative space, turning the scene into a study of scale and atmosphere rather than scenery. It feels less like a place you visit and more like a place the weather temporarily allows to exist.
